I am currently editor of loveEXPLORING, a travel inspiration and advice website by LoveIncorporated (the publishers behind loveMONEY and loveFOOD). I led the launch of the site in May 2017 and am now overseeing all content strategy, social media management and partnerships.
Journalism & travel writing
My writing has appeared on RoughGuides.com, Mashable.com, National Geographic Traveller UK, Weather2Travel.com, Skyscanner.net and in The Guardian & The Observer (print and online). I have contributed to travel guidebooks, coffee table titles and am a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers.
I’ve reported from a variety of places for different publications; most recently I updated the Albania chapter of The Rough Guide to Europe on a Budget, I’ve made independent short documentaries in the deserts of northern Kenya and I spent summer 2015 live-reporting from Glastonbury Festival for Mashable.
Digital content & social media
I managed Rough Guides’ highly successful online content and social media for 3.5 years from 2013–2017. In 2015 alone, our Facebook following and engagement more-than doubled, and I was part of the team that created a (relatively) viral video with more than four million views in just one month. During my time at Rough Guides, our website traffic grew from 600,000 monthly users to two million.
I have given one-to-one training and group seminars on social media and online content, as well as mentoring second year journalism students at London College of Communications. I’ve spoken at a wide variety of industry events and on travel-related panels for the BGTW, PRCA, and at Cambridge University.
